Product: HCO Leave-In Conditioner
Price: around $ 7.90 for 8 fl. oz.
Company: Design Essentials

Promises:

HCO Leave In Conditioner is an intercellular treatment, which acts as a conditioner as well as a blow-drying agent. It quickly penetrates deep within the hair shaft to replenish needed proteins. Thus leaving the hair soft, manageable and full of body.

Instructions:

1. After washing and conditioning, apply HCO to wet hair. 2.  Comb through to the ends of hair. 3. Proceed to set, style or blow dry.

Ingredients:

WATER, AMODIMETHICONE, TALLOWTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, NONOXYNOL-10, POLYQUATERNIUM 11, DIMETHICONE COPOLYOL, PEG-8 DIMETHICONE, MEADOFORMATE, PANTHENOL, GLYCERIN, HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, PEG 75 LANOLIN, POLYSORBATE 20, FRAGRANCE, CITRIC METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, RED 33

Consistency/Scent:

The leave-in is a cloudy white liquid and has a sweet, candy-like fragrance.

Results:

I washed twice with the Organic Cleanse shampoo and deep conditioned with the Stimulations Conditioner.

As shown in the video, I sprayed a generous amount of product on my freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. I also applied a quarter size amount of the Design Essentials Silk Essentials (review to follow).

I detangled and proceeded to blowout the hair, applying the DE Nutriment Creme headdress (review to follow) to each section to help keep it lubricated.

Lastly, I flat ironed the hair adding a bend at the ends.

Positive:

The leave-in has a nice light fragrance and does help detangle the hair. It also leaves a light hold, which is great for curling or setting the hair. My hair felt very soft after it was blown dry.

Negative:

It left my hair feeling a bit coated and sticky. The fragrance does not linger and takes on a chemical smell when heat is applied. I did like the hold and the coated feeling seemed to disappear after I finished blow drying and flat ironing the hair.

Overall:

A pretty decent leave-in conditioner. I like the hold and softness it left on the hair but was not overall wowed by its performance. I still prefer Neutrogena Triple Moisture Leave-in, which leaves my hair soft, silky and full of body.

Has anyone else tried this product? What did you think?
