Consistency/Scent:
The tamer is clear and smells identical to the Keracare Dry and Itchy Scalp Glossifier - a slightly mentholated scent. It feels a bit sticky at first but, after you rub it in between your palms, the tamer liquifies and turns into a silky smooth serum.
Results:
I am about 5 months past relaxer so my roots are definitely...there. So, I took a pea size amount and applied to to my edges. Immediately, they started to lay down smooth. I was amazed! I took my boar bristle brush and blow dryer on medium and gently blew out my edges. They immediately became silky straight. It almost looked like I had a fresh relaxer!Positive:
This tamer is amazing. It left my edges super straight - without flaking and without any sticky residue. In addition, I used a pea size amount so the product will easily last me a LONG time.
Negative:
I don't really have anything negative to say (for once)! Not loving the scent but it does not linger in the hair.
Overall:
I LOVE this tamer. I never really saw the need for a tamer, I usually just use water and a blow-dryer/round brush or just flat iron the roots straight. But, this tamer helped lay down my edges straighter and it allowed them to stay straight for a longer period of time.
If you want to avoid using heat, I would apply this tame to the edges, slick back with a boar bristle brush and cover with a satin scarf. It works just as well without the heat.
This is definitely a new staple for me!
