Product Review - Keracare Edge Tamer
Product: Keracare Edge Tamer
KeraCare® Edge Tamer lays down wavy hair along hairlines to give edges a silky-smooth touchable texture. This super-holding gel can quickly tame any tapered area without the fear of sudden reversion. May be used on relaxed or natural hair. Non-Greasy Flake-Free Colorless.
Apply a small amount of Edge Tamer along the hairline. Using slight pressure, repetitively smooth down hair onto scalp using fingertips and/or back of a comb until hair is silky staight.
Water, ceteareth-25, glycerin, PEG-7, glyceryl cocoate, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, proplyene glycol, propylene glcol (and) water (and) pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, propylyene glycol (and) water (and) saccharum officinarum (sugar cane) extract, propylene glycol (and) water (and) citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel extract, propylene glycol (and) water (and) camellia oleifera leaf extract, diazolininyl urea (and) iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, fragrance, butylphenyl methylpropional, alpha-isomethyl ionone, amyl cinnamal, benzyl salicylate, eugeniol, gerainol, hydroxycitronellal, isoeugenol, limonene, linalool.
The tamer is clear and smells identical to the Keracare Dry and Itchy Scalp Glossifier - a slightly mentholated scent. It feels a bit sticky at first but, after you rub it in between your palms, the tamer liquifies and turns into a silky smooth serum.
Results:I am about 5 months past relaxer so my roots are definitely...there. So, I took a pea size amount and applied to to my edges. Immediately, they started to lay down smooth. I was amazed! I took my boar bristle brush and blow dryer on medium and gently blew out my edges. They immediately became silky straight. It almost looked like I had a fresh relaxer!
Positive:This tamer is amazing. It left my edges super straight - without flaking and without any sticky residue. In addition, I used a pea size amount so the product will easily last me a LONG time.
Negative:I don't really have anything negative to say (for once)! Not loving the scent but it does not linger in the hair.
If you want to avoid using heat, I would apply this tame to the edges, slick back with a boar bristle brush and cover with a satin scarf. It works just as well without the heat.
This is definitely a new staple for me!
